    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have had a fantastic year at C&W, I have been incredibly fortunate to be involved with projects across the board and have gained an incredibly valuable year's practical experience with a large corporate.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Initially it takes time to gain the trust of your colleagues but once I began to build those relationships I felt valued by colleagues who treated me as part of the team.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • From day one and throughout my year I have been given support and guidance, my colleagues have made time for me and answered any questions that I may have had throughout the year.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As the trust developed between myself and my colleagues I was given more responsibilities and entrusted with a larger number of projects, which lead to a healthy manageable workload.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was fortunate enough to manage certain events on my own, moreover when the events team were perhaps not available or out of the country I would attend events on my own and ensure that they were managed effectively on the night. There was perhaps a bit more responsibility that could have been given throughout the year but overall a very good balance.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have learnt throughout this year will not only aid my studies but has given me vital practical experience of a large corporate which will be crucial once I enter full time employment.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere within the office is a healthy balance between work and fun, there is often a joke throughout the day but we work very well as a team that meets deadlines collectively.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Overall the placement was set up well, the company have a graduate scheme in place which includes a very comprehensive induction week which really gives the user an understanding of the business. There could have perhaps been regular updates with my line manager throughout the year but this has now been addressed for the future.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I received a great deal of support, particularly from my line manager who encouraged that I complete a professional qualification throughout my placement year. Because of this support and encouragement I now have a professional qualification and an incredibly diverse year in industry.

  • Sports and Social Club

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There is potential to return, it is heavily dependent on whether there is a job opportunity for me in a years time once I have graduated as a lot can change in one year.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Very good social scene among colleagues and placement students, with specific events run for placement students and beers after work with colleagues. Couldn't have asked for a better balance between work and social aspects.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I have been based in the West End and therefore you are subject to London prices, this is something to be expected if you are based in London, particularly in affluent areas.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very diverse, locally there are some great bars and just a short taxi journey will take you to a number of bars/clubs.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I have been involved in countless events after and during work, there is a very strong sporting culture within the organisation, personally I have represented the organisation in the property triathlon and softball.
