    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The year has flown by, and I believe that it is because of how much I have enjoyed the placement. Monday's are always difficult, but they are made better when you enjoy the work you are doing!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I would say that the people I worked with made this placement what it was for me, I will miss all of my colleagues.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was great, she will be a friend and addvisor for a very long time!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I would say that you can never be too busy, I like busy. If we were having a quiet week I would ask for more work - and there is always more work to be done!

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Granted for a lot of projects I reported to my manager, but as the year progresses I was given more and more responsibility, to the point I was running my own projects.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have learnt for interviews and how to interact with people are unforgettable. Also I have been given lots of report writing advice, and experience that will be brilliant for returning to University.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • We had a great time, all year! But if work needed to be done people respected that and wouldn't be a distraction.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My interview was very late in the year and I believe this made it difficult to be well organised. It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, it just wasn't seamless.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My manager was brilliant at giving me different opportunities to learn. I probably saw more of the site and learnt more different processes than what the majority of my colleagues ever have.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • You can be fastracked, but the application for fast track is quite long.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We did the Three Peaks Challenge together!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Definitely not as cheap as uni, but not too expensive. Taxis are expensive - and you need to get a taxi!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It is a quiet town, but there is one place open to 4am - just don't go too often, a few times is probably enough!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The gym mainly, however I believe if you looked for different activities you could find them!

    4/5
