What placements are on offer?

For undergraduates in the UK, we offer both 12 month industrial placements and 8-12 week summer placements. Whilst in stretching roles working on important business projects you’ll be able to build on the skills you’ve gained at university and apply them to a practical environment, allowing you to make an impact.

We offer Industrial placements in all areas of GSK including Manufacturing (Engineering), R&D (Science), IT, Supply Chain, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, Sales, Marketing, Communications, HR and Finance and ViiV healthcare.

We also offer summer placements in Marketing, Tech and R&D. These typically last 8 to 12 weeks and are aimed at students who have the skills and experience to add value to our company, as well as the potential to build a long-term career with us.

Whatever degree you’re studying, you’ll need to be a high energy, well-organised, proactive student, able to establish good working relationships, resilient and with the ability to think flexibly.

  • Internal Placement Student

    I enjoyed my placement at GSK. The variety of diverse opportunities made available to internal placement students at GSK was a real highlight. I was able to develop a wide range of interpersonal skills. This included networking and socialising with fellow internal placement students and getting involved in lots of events. This included conferences, presentations, poster symposiums at work. Outside of work there is a network on internal placement students at the GSK Stevenage site allowing for lots of social events and group activities....

  • Clinical Programming Placement

    My placement was a great experience where I had the opportunity to understand a variety of roles. I was able to work on projects and learn a new programming language - SAS. I was able to also learn about R which is a new language within the industry. I enjoyed working with different people on projects and visiting other sites such as GSK House Stevenage and Ware. My colleagues were incredibly helpful and always happy to support....
