The Role
I learned a lot from my time at GForces. They were very supportive by ensuring I got the most out of my placement time. They allowed me experience the departments that I felt would benefit me the most. They are very fun and sociable company and that is very evident by all the great staff that work there.
Although it took a little time to adjust, it was very clear from the beginning that I was part of the team. There was no stigma attached to being an intern. Your are given just as much opportunity to prove yourself as any other member of staff.
Throughout the whole process I was fully supported by my line managers and HR managers. From my day to day jobs or any problems that would occur during the placement. They have a very strong support system.
Weeks would definitely vary. Due to the industry, it meant that different months were busier than others but there definitely was always a constant stream of work to be doing.
There is a lot of responsibility. The tasks you are given are not created for the sake of an experience. From the start you are integrated with the daily running’s of the business. So depending on the department you work in, your work represents the company.
Without any doubt I have learned more in the past five months than I have in my previous years at University. It has been a great insight to the working world. It was a priceless experience to be part of a growing business that is at the top of its industry.
The Company
Extremely modern open plan office. Very comfortable to work in.
Well organised, very supportive and the company genuinely wants you to benefit from it as much as possible. Take endless steps to ensure you learn as much as you want to learn from the placement.
They did everything and much more than one could expect.
Company Parties/Events
They give very detailed training to all the internal products which alone creates prospects in the future.
The Culture
Definitely a social scene, based on the location at times a little difficult.
Very manageable.
Different to University nightlife but there was still lots of places to go.
They would arrange quarterly updates which were always extremely good fun and very well organised. An opportunity to get to know people from outside your own department.
