The Role
I couldn't imagine having a better placement experience.
My colleagues treated me like a true employee and not an intern. I felt I was really part of a team.
The support and feedback I received during my placement was phenomenal.
Obviously at the start of any placement you will be learning the ropes, but once you're up to speed in the way everything works then you'll be nicely busy every day.
As soon as I was ready I was given access to client work, which is a great and enjoyable responsibility. During this time I also received great support from my team.
I learnt more during my placement than college and University combined. Not only do I feel that my technical skills have dramatically increased, I also feel that my professionalism has vastly improved.
The Company
The atmosphere was always friendly yet professional. There is a good balance between professionalism and banter, something that I have found is vital to office work.
The placement was setup well and I never felt like I was left just to get on with something, I was always given work that was valuable to the team and company.
I was given a lot of one-on-one guidance and help during my placement whenever I needed it. Every member of my team took time to sit with me and go through anything that I didn't understand.
Company Parties/Events
I would love to work as a full time employee if the opportunity is there for me after University.
The Culture
There were nights out as a team and we had a great rapport together in the office.
I decided to rent a property close to my placement which was a great price considering it was a five minute walk from the main town, and a fifteen to twenty minute drive to work.
The nightlife in Maidstone is on par with any student area!
We held social nights and meals which were always fun.
