  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement with I would recommend it to anyone looking to gain experience in a reputable firm.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was treated like a full time member of staff and give tasks and projects that I was responsible for, my colleagues relied on me and that helped my development

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a mentor who I had fornightly meetings with to discuss my progress. I felt well supported by management who are approachable and friendly.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In the beginning once I had been trained in my daily tasks I felt like I could have more to do but after discussing this with my mentor and gaining more experience my responsibilities grew and there was always plenty to do.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a good level of responsibility on placement and this grew as I progressed through my placement. I was relied upon to deliver tasks and projects without supervision.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Definately skills for life. My placement at HP has allowed me to develep my confidence, communication and presentation skills to name a few - all skills I can take forward into my studies and future career.

  • Good mix between being professional and relaxed. Everyone was approacable and willing to help you with any issues.

  • I was given the opportunity to take on a role as a full time buyer, this was good for my personal training and development.

  • I would look to this organisation for future employment based on my experience this year and will apply for the graduate scheme after my final year at uni.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Good social scene we had a few nights out in Glasgow as well as our Christmas night out, there was 5 other students in my department as well.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I didn't move for my placement I continued to live at home so wasn't really affected by a change in cost of living

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Again didn't move continued staying in the Glasgow area which has good night life.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Various charity fundraising activities for Teenage Cancer Trust, opportunities to join clubs and various nights out with colleagues.
