The Role
At sometimes it has been extremely stressful, though this is good experience for what I will do in the future. It's not exactly the job I would want to do when I graduate, but again, good experience.
Almost everyone I have worked with has treated me like a colleague and not "just an intern"
My managers have always been available if I need to ask a question or for help, but I have found a lot has been self taught. As the team is so stretched and so busy they didn't have time to properly train me
I will go through phases of having nnothing to do, and then being rushed off my feet and having to sign on at night to get things done, though i do quite like some added stress, sometimes it's too much for an intern and how much we get paid.
A lot of responsibility and I have run large projects and been left to it.
Good personal skills and experience of working full time and some legal aspects, but not everything I have done will be useful
The Company
Brilliant atmosphere, everyone is friendly and welcoming
The intern program is well organised as a whole but as my department hadn't had an intern before they didn't know what to expect I think
I think they ahve invested a lot as I have done so many activities
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
In the distant future yes there are prospects, but for what I want to do directly after graduating, HP do not offer
The Culture
very good events organised by the intern committee, though some behaviour needed to be curbed
though socialising can be expensive, I lived at home so cost of living was very cheap
very good nightlife in Reading
a lot of out of work activities with the interns and interns from other companies and a couple within my team
