The Role
Completely, more enjoyable than studies at University.
Given a nice amount of responsibility, relied on at certain stages. Available to offer assistance in some areas.
Constant support by my manager, when struggling with difficult jobs or pieces of work, appropriate guidance was given.
Busy ranged from moderate to very busy, which was very nice as each week offered a different challenge.
Provided with hardware to use and be responsible for, ensuring many of our Critical Server's in our environment were up to date with both Windows Updates.
Hands on experience with VMware ESX environment - the only ever experience was with Virtual Machines was using VMware player at University (very limited, not that sophisticated). Learnt very technical aspects of Server environments, how they should be correctly setup and maintained. Storage considerations that hadn't previously knew of. It's given me inspiration for my final-year Dissertation/Project.
The Company
Friendly, talkative at times.
Great organisation from start to finish.
Ensuring I understood most of what the team does, with hands on experience. Train-signal credentials to improve my knowledge, allowed to use when not completely busy at work.
Flexi Time
Healthcare from home
If offered I would most likely join after graduating!
The Culture
Opportunities to regularly go out with some of the other interns, occasionally went out for meals with my team.
Living at home - very cheap!
Good.
Football, basketball etc.
