    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • A very enjoyable and worthwhile experience - the only reason there is one star less is that you find yourself surprisingly tired, and the days are fairly long!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • There was never any time when we were treated like children, and despite us being a fair way away from employment prospects (time-wise) and for asking the questions a lot of the employees must have received a thousand times before, I certainly felt valued.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Plenty - there was always somebody on hand that you would feel comfortable asking for advice from.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Some of the more financially-related skills learned are only 'not-so'relevant' now because I am studying first year Economics and we simply haven't got on to that material yet. However, I can certainly see myself returning to use information developed (notably 'How to read the FT' which was an excellent session) and I have no doubt it will be extremely useful in the future, particularly if I do find myself applying for a job at Citi or another Investment Bank further down the line.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • All ran like clockwork, and we had a very good idea of when everything would occur too - well planned.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everybody was friendly and welcoming, all attendees/pupils (however you like to call yourselves) seemed to get on well and it was an enjoyable atmosphere in which to spend the days

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Limited for now seeing as it was simply an Insight course, but definite scope for further development.

    3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • That was one of the overriding themes I took away - I have a much better understanding now than I did before.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • As above!

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very valuable indeed for the above reasons, although unfortunately it's also made my choices that much more difficult...

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Still waiting for the money to actually come in, but I have no doubt that it will!

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • This played a hugely important part of the course. Networking over bowling?!

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Enjoyable, although keeping up conversation in a busy room after a few beers had gone around could be fairly tiring. However, the networking opportunities were enjoyable and the atmosphere was great, I just wonder whether the bowling might have been better substituted for something else - sure it is fun, but breaking off your conversation to go and take your turn and similar wasn't massively conducive. Also, through no fault of the organisers' own, it could be quite hard to pitch the right way to act, because some of the employees to be networked with were a lot more relaxed than others! That's just part and parcel I think though.

    3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • A little - clearly work takes up a very large amount of time, but in conversation with some employees I did ascertain that they have some life outside of the office! These did seem to be the younger employees (who are the ones who actually have longer hours and work 'harder' from my experience) but I suppose this was because they felt able to be that much more frank/honest.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Certainly - I gained a far better breadth of knowledge about Citi, enjoyed my time there and came away very glad I went. It's a great way of making contacts too!
