  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Made some good friends and had an action packed week.

    • Everyone I met had time to speak to me and I felt valued as part of the RBS community while I was there.

    • Gained a valuable insight into the finance industry and gained presentation, team work and interview skills that will assist me in my degree and any other job interviews I have.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • Well structured - couple of days job shadowing, a couple having presentations by staff at RBS and assessment days where we would do a presentation and have an interview. All at different locations around London which was confusing but was a good insight to see all the different HQ buildings.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • Good atmosphere - everyone was praising us for getting onto the spring week, all the other interns were really eager but also supportive and friendly.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • As it was just a week, this was limited but they invested their time and support in ensuring we understood every part of the business and offered the chance to further our training at a summer internship via an assessment stage.

    • Job shadowing gave us a real insight into the values and culture of RBS and what people actually do on a day to day basis.

    • I was reimbursed for travel and food and my hotel was paid for and was first class!

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Lots of chances to talk with employees at all levels and with each other and the recruitment team.

    • Twice in the week were social events put on with free drinks and canopes to meet with people and get to know the other interns better.

    • Some social events organised.

    • Yes, great way to see what banking is like first hand and hear from the employees themselves.
