    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • 5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • As it was only a week long scheme it was clear you were never going to be treated "like family" but we were welcomed in very well and I felt very valued. The work given was very useful to the firm and they thanked you for it.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • A lot - never had any issues with asking questions for clarification. Also the supervisor was explaining everything as we went along and enabled me to place the work into the bigger picture.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Looking at an area of law that will end up being one of my option subjects (IP) so it was a very useful practical introduction. The workshops will help with applications in the future.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • There was only a slight issue with regards to lack of desks but that was quickly resolved and wasn't grad recruitments fault. It was due to holidays being changed etc. Other than this it was really good and ran seamlessly bar this one issue.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The people were amazing and the social events were also very good.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were training sessions, whether they were run by grad recruitment or our different departments. Therefore, we felt like we were being treated like a trainee and consequently felt very much invested in.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • We were working as a trainee would in their early seats, so it was an experience of a trainee's life and what it would be like working for the firm.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The culture at S&S is one of the best parts of the firm and something you only experience by spending time working for them as we did in this week. Everyone was friendly, forthcoming and the culture is just as described by brochures.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It confirmed that I wanted to study law and become a lawyer in a city firm.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • £250 for the week, which reasonably covered the expenses you had.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Speed networking events, as well as drink events with an open invite to trainees and supervisors enabled us to meet a vast range of employees from trainees to partners.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • 2 drinks sessions enabled everyone to get to know each other and have fun - in a weeks place

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • At a drinks session saying goodbye to a member of the department I was sitting in we met sports team captains.
