About You
I learnt a lot about the workings of an investment bank and had a great time shadowing RBS employees working in different sectors.
Everyone I met was very friendly and helpful.
All the graduates on the desk rotation gave me some good advice and were able to talk fairly openly and honestly about their experiences at RBS.
I do not feel that the skills I have learned from the week will be too influential with my studies but may promote greater confidence and calm under pressure. Should I end up in banking the skills will certainly be of use, putting me ahead of the competition and allowing me to decide which area I would like to work in.
The Company
Very well planned, a lot was packed in to a short space of time but it all flowed very easily.
The whole experience was extremely friendly and energetic.
The company invested a lot of money in terms of bringing companies in to talk to us as well as graduates and higher up employees taking time out of their busy days to talk to us and answer questions.
Gave a good rough idea of tasks one would be performing with a few more detailed examples.
Gave me a very positive feeling of RBS and gave the impression of a large community.
Provided me with a lot of insights into the business and confirmed for me that this was something I wanted to do.
Everything Else
Paid for travel and provided accommodation for those outside the M25
Some chances to meet employees at social event but tended to only be graduates rather than higher up employees.
Fun to do but may have been more relaxed outside of an RBS building.
Asked graduates about what they get up to in their free time and spend an afternoon doing CSR.
Yes, to any with aspirations in banking, you learn a lot, its very interesting and fun.
