    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I applied with the goal of having a good insight of what banking is all about, and I left non only with that in mind, but also with a network of great people!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I really felt as RBS was looking and making the greatest effort in having all of us in their team.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Total! we received really specific directions for every place we were supposed to be!

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I received a lot of really good information and guidance into banking. I didn't develop a lot of skills (if some, communication) but we didn't have much time to actually learn how to perform the job! As regardds my degree studies, it has been useful because there is little that we could about banking now by following our courses (at least mine, which is really general!)

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • i think the structure was quite good. The first two training days were really intense, sometimes even tiring at the end of the day. The desk rotations were both useful and fun, and the CSR event was too! I think that was the most distinguishing feature which I enjoyed a lot: we should always keep an eye on helping others, that greatly matters in life.. and why not doing so while joining the values of RBS?!? Values matters as well as skills!

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Another distinguishing feature was the atmosphere. I loved the way people from the Grad Team didn't at all try to pur pressure on us to perform well, but just suggested to be ourselves! I'm sure it has been a really busy week for them, but it was nice that they didn't look tired at all! I never felt in competition with my mates, and never felt too dumb when asking questions to the Grads and Employees. It has been a lot fun, also for the events during which we weren't assessed, so that we could fully enjoy ourselves, getting to know each other and clear up our minds from "work"!

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had roughly one and a half day of training, which I found quite useful, it is always good to refresh these important tips for your working life as a whole.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Even though we didn't learn any specific skills, we could perceive the working environment and imagine ourselves in the job: I really did realize that this is the kind of life I would enjoy!

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I understood the company culture thanks to a lot of small, but important things: the behavior and kindness of the Grad Team before, and that of Employees after. The feeling that they suggesting us to have was mostly to enjoy our week and understand as much as we could. We weren't at all pressured to behave in any way in order to overcome competition; We had throughout the day moments in which we could enjoy ourselves without the constant thought of being assessed; We enjoyed helping others during the CSR event; We got to have a very interesting Only-Women session, which showed the effort RBS is making into open up to Females. Those things, among many others, made me perceive, and totally agree, with RBS culture.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Thank you a lot for that! My expenses were quite expensive!

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • A lot of them, longer or shorter, all really useful, and sometimes even fun!

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Fun, because we also got to talk to Grads, which were in our shoes few years ago! You never felt too dumb asking simple questions to them, while you could have with senior people. Senior People, as well, were able to share with us their experience, how the bank has changed throughout the years and how it might be in the nearest future!

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • The CSR event, and, funny enough, we also randomly met some of them at a bar last night!

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Totally!
