    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Was great fun; fellow students were all of a similar mindset. Early mornings aren't so bad when you're all in it together!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Whilst everyone we shadowed were very busy, the help and guidance offered was extremely useful.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Everyone working was keen to offer advice. The support from HR was also second to none!

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • A true insight to an investment bank. A broad range of roles were covered during the week. Fascinating to see how a bank actually functions.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Well structured from day one. Varying levels of independence throughout the week; 'hands were held' when needed, but we were free to learn independently with resources provided too!

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Amazing atmosphere; given the clash of students on their Easter break and bankers in high pressure jobs, wasn't sure how things would work. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the week and found it a great environment wherever I was during the day! No one could do too much to help us students!

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was no expense spared on providing for us during the week. We were initially trained in a lecture type environment, then a more interactive one, then placed on a variety of desks to see how what we learnt actually works. Great food and drink also!!

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Whilst not every desk could be covered in the time scale, a broad overview was given. All questions I had were answered! Have come out much more educated about the firm and the industry!

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • We were told openly and frankly about the culture and working hours, as well as how they compared to other firms in the industry.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • A great overview of the company and industry; given me a much clearer idea of what I'd like to do in the future. Definitely hasn't put me off, either!

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Although I would have been if I had lived outside of the M25. Many fellow students were reimbursed or put up in accommodation (which they said was outstanding!).

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Throughout the week informally, and at organised events. Got plenty of business cards of people offering advise.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Varied in style, but all great fun and productive!

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Like the culture, was spoken openly and frankly about on the desks to us students!

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • A great insight into the RBS group as well as the industry. Hard work for the week and long hours, but time never dragged!

    5/5
