About You
It was very enjoyable in the sense that you got to see how Operations 'actually works', what it does and where it fits in the bigger picture. There was a lot of variety which was very good, so you had Work shadowing but there was presentations and networking opportunities as well.
Very valued. You can see how much was invested in us, from the outset. The accommodation was brilliant and everyone was laid back and approachable.
We were assigned a 'buddy' who was part of the grad program, to help us.
It will help make choices for future internships and jobs. 1 networking presentation was very useful in talking about how we should conduct ourselves so we can come across better to others.
The Company
Very well. A packed week with variety.
Laid back atmosphere. Everyone got on, but also very professional.
They invested a lot through networking opportunities. As well as this they hired an outside speaker who gave a brilliant presentation on networking.
You got to see what the grads were doing as we were work shadowing some of them. So you found out what 'a day in the life' will be if I was to work here.
In general, from the atmosphere you gathered it was laid back but very hard working and professional. It seems like a nice company to work for - everyone seemed happy.
It gave me a better idea on how I wish to progress my career. I was unsure prior to this insight but now I know where I want to go.
Everything Else
Train travel paid for. Accommodation provided.
Met people ranging from current grads, to line managers to senior bosses. On a day to day basis you were working with a few people who also gave insights to how they got to where they are.
Brilliant! Especially the one at the bar...
Yes, such as charity work. RBS encourages employees to take certain amount of day off in a year to do said charity work.
Yes. It is definitely worth doing if you are unsure of where you want to take your career. It is also a great opportunity to meet new people.
