About You
I really enjoyed it. It was a very good insight and gave me a better understanding of how the bank operate.
I feel myself respected because we have a lot of opportunities to meet senior management people at the firm.
People at the firm are willing to teach and I was especially attracted by their opportunities offered to junior.
We had a lot of simulations about meeting the client to hone our presentation skills and soft skills which are indispensable to build up a good relationship with clients in a short period of time.
The Company
The insight is very well structured mainly because the rotations at the insight really have given me a broad understanding to how the different teams at markets corporate with each other. It also gave me an insight to different product areas which I found very useful.
People are all very friendly. The talks may be a bit too informative but in general I find the material very useful.
They did a lot of simulations and training which is very useful and applicable.
We met a lot of graduates at the firm who may had spent only a few years at the firm. That gave me a very accurate picture of how a full time role would be like when I join the company.
Sitting at different desks in Markets really had gave me a picture of the culture at RBS. People at trading floor are extremely busy. Everyone has loads of phone calls and communicate with others through shouting at people.
We have received a lot of information about the work of different department. This is very useful. Also, through talking with people at the firm, I received a lot of career advice as well.
Everything Else
I was expecting to have networking event with some senior management people at the firm. Yet it didn't come true. Still, I met a lot of junior analyst at the firm through rotations and networking.
We had 2 networking events. One is mainly to socialize with other candidates at the spring week while the other is to meet more junior analyst at the firm. Both of them are well organised and I enjoyed it. Yet, maybe there is lack of opportunities to meet senior management people at the firm.
Yes. There are a lot of projects related to CSR, which full time analyst usually spent 24 hours a year in these volunteering experience.
Absolutely. I find the programme very insightful and useful to my career path.
