About You
Definitely enjoyable experience, atmosphere was really good among interns
Top class accomodation in service apartments, RBS also brought in external speakers and trainers for many of the programmes.
HR were very supportive, emailed us regarding the next day's programme in case we missed out on the announcements.
Definitely alot of transferrable skills like networking abilities and general overview of Investment Banking as an industry
The Company
Very well structured. First two days were slightly longer but third and fourth ended early to give us time to rest for final day.
Great, I guess alot of it is down to the people you meet but no complains regarding this whatsoever
As earlier mentioned, alot of external trainers brought in to develop us not just as RBS employees but as potential bankers in general.
Alot of contact (two full days) at the RBS offices shadowing employees. Only gripe was that it was only analysts.
From chatting with the analysts as well as the presentations by the more senior employees, began to understand what RBS was aiming for in the next few years
Gave us a workbook detailing the different roles at RBS. Presentations were very detailed as well and though it was down to chance, the analysts I shadowed were keen to explain their desks.
Everything Else
Travel and Accomodation were taken care of
Two days of work shadowing, plus a networking event on the last day where some of the analysts came down
other than the one mentioned, rather lacking
Yes, last day was a CSR day where we worked with one of RBS' partners
All in all, a great way to spend a week during Easter Break
