    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Very tiring but learned so much and it was very well organised!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was given actual jobs to do, e.g. verifying trades and spotting trade mismatches. Had great chats with all the graduates and their managers.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Two days of very intensive and useful training and then tips/help during the placement.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Certainly will be invaluable after my degree but not a huge amount of relevance to my Economic degree

    4/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Fantastic. Everybody knew exactly who to expect, where and when with only the odd hour of non-scheduled time, which was a nice way to get to know the other interns anyway!

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Hard-work and exhausting but everybody seemed to enjoy it and got along really well.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Top-class 7City Training and a lot of meals/drinks!

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Talked to so many different graduates about their experiences as well as those involved directly in the management of the graduate program.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Heard a (probably biased) view of other IB divisions and experienced first-hand the friendly culture RBS seems to have.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Helped me decide which area of the IB division I was best suited for.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Not so much reimbursed but RBS booked my week's worth of trains for me and I just had to collect my tickets from the station.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Not necessarily with anyone too senior but a few evening events with other graduates and the managers of the graduate recruitment scheme.

    4/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Always a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Everybody was very approachable.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We actually experienced some of the CSR RBS do and helped with the building of balloon chairs with disabled adults as part of the Tower Project

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Tiring, sightly stressful but puts you miles ahead for a summer internship/job.

    5/5
