    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Many of the sessions were presented in very enjoyable and interesting ways.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The RBS team were constantly reminding us of how future-orientated the Bank is and thus how important it is to bring in new graduates. We were also told about how competitive the interview process was to get on the placement scheme.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Every member of the team was always willing to help us with any questions we have.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The experience has been invaluable. What I have learnt will not only help me in my university degree, as it was very relevant to what I am studying, but it will be immensely useful for future applications and interviews.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • From the very first day we were told about how each day was structured. I felt that by giving us 2 days of training, then 2 days of shadowing, and an assessment centre with CRS at the end was ideal.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • All of the interns seemed incredibly happy to be there. The first day provided a brilliant ice-breaker for everyone and simultaneously taught us the importance of networking. I felt this was a very useful start to the week. Also, all the staff seemed like they enjoyed being part of the recruitment process and the graduates seemed to enjoy having us as shadows.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • It was evident from the start that the company invested a lot with the lengthy and costly training we were given.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It provided me with great knowledge of how the bank works on the whole, but also gave me a really good insight into the working atmosphere at the bank as I was able to shadow in several departments.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Everybody I spoke to was extremely happy to discuss the culture of the bank with me, and it has allowed me to differentiate between RBS and other banks with regards to their culture.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I know in much more detail what this sector is like, and in particular what role I would most enjoy being in for the future.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Living within the M25 I was not reimbursed of any expenses.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were a lot of opportunity to meet with a lot of different graduates, managers, and of course interns. We even had a talk on how to effectively network at the beginning of the week which was immensely useful.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Very enjoyable. We had a quiz after day two which was a really relaxed way to end the first two days of training.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I had a lengthy discussion with one graduate about what the bank offers outside of work, and we also took part in a CSR scheme.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes, it was very useful for my future, but also very enjoyable.

    5/5
