The Role
The working environment at Unilever is exceptional - drive for excellent performance whilst in a supportive, fun, team orientated environment (where the dress code is basically smart casual)
Very much like a family - supported and looked after whilst also strongly challenged to be the best I could be.
Line manager was very good at being supportive and providing guidance whilst leaving me the space to take ownership of my project.
I was never without things to be doing
I was completely responsibile for my project and how it related to other memebers of the teams work - responsibility did also fall to my line manager though.
Not directly related to my degree but very useful for business work in the future.
The Company
lively and busy
The only problem was that they took a very long time to move me through the interview process it was months before we had a response on our first application and then over the time that stated before we heard the result of the phone interview, but then we heard the results of the assessment day very quickly.
The line manager and buddy had a focus on developing me personally.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I'd consider myself very fortunate to get a job with Unilever.
The Culture
During work ours there was - so we went to lunch together and set up meetings with other memembers of staff together. But there wasn't an out of work social culture
Well I live in guildford anyway but it's expensive.
Had we gone out, guildford or london are both only half an hour away so it was good.
Lots of company pub quizzes and wine tasting and sports events going on.
