The Role
Truly awesome company.
Since I was only a summer intern for 10 weeks there wasn't enough time to "jell", but the team was very friendly and I had a good time working and going out with them.
Very good support not only from management but also from peers.
Quite busy. Even summer internship comes with a lot of responsibility and sometimes there is a lot of work to get done.
Quite a lot. The rule of thumb seems to be that one is given as much responsibility as one is willing to take.
The technical skills I have developed are unlikely to assist in my degree as my focus at university is theoretical rather than applied computer science. This said, I have worked with pretty cutting edge technologies and I got quite a few good ideas for a final year project during my time at Morgan Stanley. The training provided is excellent - very comprehensive, intense and to the point.
The Company
People tend to work hard and sometimes it might seem quite dull, but occasional nights out tend to compensate very well.
Excellent organistaion, lots of social events and a lot of informative presentations from different parts of the business.
The firm invests quite a lot in people and provides extensive training, building skills necessary to do the job from ground up. While working full-time it is quite easy to switch roles and take on new tasks since most of the time all relevant training is provided.

There does not seem to be any upper cap on the number of people who are offered a full-time position following an internship. The sky's the limit.
The Culture
People are very social and there were plenty nights out and fun events, not only among the interns at Morgan Stanley but also people across the street.
London's not cheap but the salary and accommodation bonus are adequate and one can easily afford a reasonable place. Plus there's plenty of student accommodation available in London.
What can one say about London..
Quite a few. The company runs various volunteering schemes allowing people to get involved in numerous different things.
