  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Although everyone I met was friendly, as an intern I'm not sure i was 'valued' as the work I was doing was not particularly challenging

    2/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There was plenty of support offered by supervisors, particularly at the beginning of the internship to help get you on your feet

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It varied, at some points I was very busy but at others I had to ask for things to do.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Not a huge amount of responsibility, but towards the end I was expected to use my initiative to a greater extent>

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Definitely some of the skills I learnt will be relevant should I decide to pursue a career in accounting, but apart from that I don't think I got anything out of the internship that I don't already get out of University life/past jobs.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was fairly quiet but also sociable and friendly

  • Well organised

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was impressed with the time and investment put into the interns' experience, as it showed that they were interested in our personal development and wanted to facilitate this.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have picked up some useful tips that will help me when I make an application for a full time job with this company, and had the chance to network to make useful contacts.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was one social which was good but apart from that nothing was organised.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I commuted from home

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • As above, I commuted from home so couldn't really say.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • No, not at this level within the company. However talking to current employees it seems that there are plenty of opportunities once you re working full time for KPMG.
