The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at KPMG, they had a wide mix of students in all areas of business
KPMG staff made all the placement students feel valued especially as the majority workforce are graduates working through the ranks
Support was given throughout by all my managers. I could go to them with any queries and with no hesitation
The workload was fair, stressful at times but a fair balance. Didn't think I was bored or too busy
I was responsible for some important steps in a project And felt as though a lot was resting on my work
Working at a reputable organisation it helped me with interpersonal skills nd accounting skills definitely usefull outside of work
The Company
The atmosphere was open plan, hot desk so no real layout got to meet new people daily. It was a good atmosphere to be in
Yearly scheme therefore well planned and set up.. Proper coordinators and a robust scheme frommsteart to finish.
Not much external training provided however I was allowed on internal courses where I did a class on Neurolinguistic programming
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
International Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
I would love to go back, however the graduate scheme is difficuly to get on hopefully a placement with them will cleave me in good stead
The Culture
Working in london we had a good social scene.. Lots of clubs restaurants and bars.bwithna welcome event hosted by KPMG to let all placement students get to know each other. This made the scene a lot better. We had smaller groups within our specialties
London living is very expensive, salary helps but doesn't cover the cost of living
Nightlife was amazing, especially in Bank area.
KPMG promoted extra activites with subsidised football courts and cheap gym membership.
