The Role
I really enjoyed it. I was lucky enough to work in a very friendly and energetic team and I instantly felt like part of the group. The tasks were often challenging but I never felt afraid to ask questions.
I felt that colleagues were very aware of how busy I was. They often asked for help in completing tasks and I feel that they thought I carried out the job quickly and efficiently. At the same time, if I was obviously very busy then they also respected this.
Throughout my placement I had a buddy and a PM who were always available to answer any questions and check that I was enjoying my experience with the firm. I also found that everyone else I came into contact with was happy to help and answered many of my questions.
It varied - my team tried to ensure that I was never without work, however there were some slower patches. In this case I still performed useful tasks such as QA work.
I was happy with the amount of responsibility I was given. I felt like a valued part of the group and was aware of the need for me to work accurately so that it did not affect the jobs of the rest of the team.
Very much so. Skills with people, computers and general awareness of the industry was invaluable and can be used throughout the world of work and education.
The Company
People were very focused so it was often very quiet and intense.
I felt as though there could have been a bit more structure to the placement - often I encountered staff who seemed unaware that there was even an intern with their team at that point. Having said that, these problems were soon rectified.
A two day induction followed by a short computer course were very useful.

Working from home
I knew I wanted to return to the firm after university and was very pleased to be offered a position on their grad scheme.
The Culture
Always some form of outing or drinks.
Very expensive. I commuted from St Albans to London which was already pricey.
Plenty of bars and restaurants for unwinding after work.
The firm offers many different initiatives and activities which are communicated around the office by email.
