    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The people were very friendly and eager to help. The placement was very enjoyable and gave you a chance to really challenge yourself as much as you wanted.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Was made to be included the whole time I was there and invited to after-work drinks, events and even to play football and golf. Made some great friends with the other interns from around the country who I have gone to visit and had such a laugh with.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Managers and other senior staff were always happy to show how to do my work and were eager for me to ask as many questions that I could think of and even explain to me how they did they work that they did. I was able to learn so much and was able to ask the same question a couple of times if I didn't understand the first time.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was a small initial period of time where a client no longer required work and I was left a little stranded but after a day they were able to give me a great variety of experience around the office.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was able to take on more responsibility when I was able to and wanted to but I was there to learn and there was no way any intern could manage projects with PwC but was at least able to see the decision making process of partners and how they went about their work.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Went to London for intense 3 day course where I learnt more than I expected to and throughout the internship, I completed online training and was provided with lunchtime lessons for extra help whenever I wanted.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • When clients are popping in and out you have to be professional but with hot desking you were always meeting new people and often on Fridays everyone went out for a drink together which was a great opportunity to talk to people in a more fun setting.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Structured from the offset with training week in London and induction at the local office. Additionally, halfway through the internship there was a feedback day and the final day we had to give a Dragon's Den pitch that we had been working on in teams. There was a day where the client project fell through so I was left without much work to do but apart from that it was very well organised.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Believe that the firm provided lots of support and invest in their people. Given lots of training and had many meetings with my Buddy and People Manager to talk about my experience and how I can grow as a person and develop my skill set.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Healthcare from home

    4/5

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Made great friends with interns in local office and around the country and have met up with them since the internship for drinks.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The office is near the centre of town but not expensive but there is lots of opportunity for socialising with members of the office.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very vibrant place with nice bars, large music venues and good nightclubs nearby the office.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
