The Role
It was great to meet many people in the business and at clients and this was one of the most positive factors. I even got to go to the USA for a thee week Audit assignment and had the weekends to discover South Carolina and Texas.
Colleagues understand you are integral to the Audit team. As an Audit associate you are on the front line of testing company financial statements and are key to ensuring deadlines are completed
PwC pay for professional exams, provide in house courses covering professional skills such as relationship building and for other professional accounting courses over and above those required to achieve the ACA. In-charges on jobs also encourage you to ask questions.
Testing never stops but I didn't mind it. More testing more learning.
You make the calls on many balances and I was surprised on the level of responsibility provided. Of course, Audit is a business with many stakeholders and as such every single piece of work undertaken by anyone (including at times senior members of the firm) is subject to a secondary review to ensure quality.
Undertaking this placement has had a massive difference on my commercial awareness and has given me a head start in business and financial markets.
The Company
Colleagues are very friendly and at times highly amusing.
Treated as a 1st year graduate with all the same development opportunities. As a placement you can't ask for more.
