The Role
It was a good experience of working in a business environment. It also provided good insight into what a job would entail.
I was given work that a graduate / analyst would be given. My manager would regularly delegate tasks that were of relevance to the team role.
All interns are assigned a manager and buddy. My team were very welcoming and approachable so I didn't hesitate to ask questions if I was unsure.
During the beginning of the internship there was a fair amount of work given daily. Some weeks would require more hours and work in order to meet deadlines.
I was given tasks that were relevant to the team role. Some of the work done (such as presentations) was for senior management which was a great experience.
The on-the-job training given was sufficient to the role I was placed in. My managers were more than happy to explain the processes behind tasks and how our duties fit into the company.
The Company
It was very friendly and warm which was great being an intern in a new environment.
There was a 3 day induction that provided some insight into the company and the different departments. There were also supplementary learning sessions throughout the internship.
The company were vocal on personal development. There were scheduled review sessions for each intern at the beginning, middle and end of the internship to allow our managers to discuss with us our strengths and areas of developments.

After an interview at the end of the process, I was offered a full-time graduate position after my final year of university.
The Culture
There was a HR arranged bowling night. There was also a Facebook group created by the interns and there were nights out regularly organised.
Glasgow is fairly cheap place (good for interns on a budget).
Good variety of clubs and bars for socialising after work.
There are social clubs / groups and volunteering opportunities outside of work regularly.
