The Role
Internship was throughly enjoyable from both a professional and personal perspective
I got on very well with colleagues and my contribution was always acknowledged
I felt comfortable asking senior employees both in my team and outside of it for advice, gaining useful insights into the business and my own performance
I was kept busy with a number of interesting tasks - things quietened down towards the end of the internship as team members went on holiday but I still had my summer project to work on which kept me busy
I was heavily involved in a live transaction, which represents significant responsibility for an intern
Both the technical and interpersonal skills I developed throughout the internship will no doubt be useful in completing my studies and my career development
The Company
Strong focus on completing work professionally but employees were very friendly and open which made for a good atmosphere
Program was organized very efficiently
In addition to the 1 week of training at the start there were countless opportunities to acquire new skills over the course of the internship, while numerous informative talks were also organized for us
Subsidised Canteen
Company Car
Company Parties/Events
Having experienced life at the firm for 10 weeks I'm very keen to become a part of it full time
The Culture
Good social interaction amongst interns in my division - it would have been good for their to be more socialising across divisions
Cost of socialising was not expensive relative to other parts of London but did not spend a lot of time socializing in/around Canary Wharf
Despite a few good bars/pubs, Canary Wharf is not really an area for nightlife
Team bonding and social events were organized throughout the internship - one or two more would have been great
