    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a struggle at the beginning due to the steep learning Curb but once I had learned the basic content the rest was really good.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Probably my own fault for asking rather stupid questions at the beginning, I somewhat didn't give the best first impression with the desk I was on.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Great, explained a lot, lent me text books or linked me to good websites to learn from if needed.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Had a rather lengthy project, but had time to get food and drink during the day.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was writing a programe to test trade ideas but wasn't given much responsibility.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • More useful that any degree or A-level exam, taught me a lot about dealing with people in a working environment, something no exam or classroom can teach you.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very good, friendly and energetic.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • A bit disorganised, line managers and desk sponsors were not well informed of the structure of the programme. The rotations were not well organised, since the contacts for rotations were not the same people who would then judge interns if interns wanted to be reallocated to a different desk, since the rotations were done by grads on the desk but decisions were made by desk sponsors/line managers who may never have even met the rotating interns.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • A lot.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Alright

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Found it hard to socialise with other interns, probably due to work constraints and the fact we were seperated after the first week.

    2/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Alright, quite cheap for London

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Alright not great

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • A few but not loads

    3/5
