    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • In general within the organisation, great. My specific role, less so. Do lots of research before choosing which internship to apply for - perhaps contact to ask more specifically what you'll be working on.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • People talk very highly of the interns.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Quite a bit. At the same time, given lots of space to use initiative and get on with things which I like.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days were very busy, others a bit too free, but after a few weeks in you are in control of your projects so can better pace the work.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Quite a bit, altough not over hugely influential projects (understandably). Would have maybe liked s bit more.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Definitely some useful skills developed, but I do not want to persue a career in the specific area I worked in so it wasn't exceptionally useful.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I was in a very small team so it wasn't as fun as others sounded, but nice relaxed and good-humoured atmosphere.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very good. Lots of structure, opportunity for feedback etc

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was lucky enough to have someone on the grad-scheme mentor me. Without this, it would've been more of a 6. We had a useful applications advice day but my manager did not invest highly in personal development. The mentoring scheme was amazing though; I received a lot of indiviudal attention and it really helped to focus my own objectives.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Healthcare/Dental

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Not personally, because I want to work internationally.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Very good. Obviosuly people are busy with their own social lives but the big group of interns meant there was nearly always someone to go for a drink with,

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Generally pricey, but no more than you'd expect for London, and some great deals to be found nearby. Plus, CR-UK employees have loads of local discounts and benefits.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • We didn't take full advantage of it, but loads of happy hours, lots of fun bars with dj's and live music. Not much in the way of clubs but you wouldn't go to those straight after work anyway.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yep, lots of fundraising stuff, lots of focs groups, photoshoots, talks, exercise classes...

    4/5
