The Role
It is a very challenging and intense experience, and certainly one in which you get out what you put into it
I felt incredibly valued by my second desk as I was given significant amounts of work that actually contributed to their performance
HR planned out a superb summer program and were always available for guidance upon request. On my desk I also felt aptly supported if/when needed
Morgan Stanley kept us extremely busy this summer, at times this could be overwhelming but also an excellent challenge
This varied form desk to desk, but certainly on my second desk I felt like I was really adding value to the team
Having graduated this is hard to say, but I certainly understand financial markets in a whole new depth now
The Company
The trading floor has a continual buzz about it, the only downside to this is that people don't always have time to spend with interns
It really was excellent, there was a huge amount and variety of activities that seemed to keep rolling on each week
Providing a whole week of training at the start, along with continual lectures and MD introductions showed their commitment to the Internship Program
Company Parties/Events
Being a competitive environment and tough market at the moment it is hard to evaluate future job prospects, but Morgan Stanley give you every opportunity to impress
The Culture
I was really pleased with the camaraderie between the interns this summer
Canary Wharf is not cheapest place in London it must be said, however full time employees were very generous when taking us out
There was very little time for night life
I would have liked to have had more sporting opportunities
