The Role
Great job, great responsibility level. Learnt a great deal about Risk and the company's exposure in terms of risk and finance
I was given alot of responsibility for reviewing some risk disclosures and felt valued and appreciated by my colleagues
I was given a alot of support and guidance not only by my manager but other team members too. Everyone in the group was very friendly and willing to help.
I was quite busy most of the time. However, the last week was very quiet.
I was fully responsible for reviewing my assigned disclosures and for running some reports using the financial softwares used by my team.
Alot. I not only developed a great knowledge of Risk Management in general but also learnt alot of business and people skills that are vital and would be handy working for any organisation.
The Company
We were quite busy most of the time so most people just worked. However, we did have a lot of intern and grad events to go to
Very organised since the day one. The HR at RBS are one of the best i have witnessed. They really give you and your manager a time table to follow and are in touch constantly so you never feel lost.
We were given a chance to attend a few presentations, informing us of some Laws and Regulations like Basel 3 that are going to affect the group. We also has to do some training modules before we started.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Quiet good if you show your interest and work well.
The Culture
The social life was great. We had drinks every thursday with fellow interns and grads and were also invited to simulated golf and other events.
Worked in central london so it was quite expensive.
Many nice bars around and alot of places to eat.
We had to raise funds for a charity as part of our internship and that was quite challenging but fun to do.
