The Role
A fantastic experience to compliment my studies at University.
Instantly accepted by my team and my opinion respected as if I had been a full-time employee.
Weekly progress meetings, a Mid-Internship Review and Final Review all help give guidance and feedback on progress.
Given a project to work on at your own pace. Sometimes found lost for what to do but proactivity is the name of the game.
While no leadership, managerial roles were assigned during the placement, the project I was working on would have a very real and lasting impact on the team I worked in.
Not only the technical experience gained, but also the experience in working in a large team within such a large company will be valuable for my final year's study at University and throughout life.
The Company
Was professional but sometimes abit quiet.
With over 150 interns in the company over the summer, the process ran like clockwork.
With managers willing to spend budget on sending me to training courses around the country and pay for trips to visit the field the investment in myself was fantastic.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
With a large amount of graduates being sought this year, employement prospects are good.
The Culture
With some events organised by the company, and some by the interns, the social scene was good.
I lived at home with my family and commuted in daily but know that rent and cost of living in London is high!
Although I did not experience this first hand, I know interns enjoyed nights out in the area. Central London is only a short trip away.
Some events were organised to get you to interact with the local community and indeed the Olympics!
