The Role
Great fun, constantly active and visisted three processing facilities.
Was asked to assist people in their daily roles as well as complete my own projects.
Very helpful, mid-internship review with my manager aided my development. Equally all my colleagues constantly offered to help out.
On the days in which I didn't have work to do I was able to keep busy by entering things like the TechnoFest poster competition.
1st project was self-contained, the 2nd was a fully integrated role in a team, working on a large midstream project (functionalisation of the business model).
Have built up considerable skills regarding the use of Excel, in particular the use of macros and building complex economic models.
The Company
Where I was situated was particularly friendly, even for a friendly company. Of course there were busier times where I had to knuckle down.
Very well organised, structured and suited to each individual, plenty of non-work social opportunities and competitions to enter alike.
Consistent help from colleagues, also had weekly lunch and learn sessions with very high profile individuals.
Have a very good record of hiring interns.
The Culture
Superb social scene, 35 interns lived in university halls, so our social life was pretty much sorted out for us.
Nights out were cheaper in comparison to London. Food was equally cheaper.
Many bars, pubs, nightclubs in Aberdeen, particularly on Thursdays/ Fridays.
Yes, many, I've had 4 meals paid for by the compant so far, in addition to organised sports events and drinks evenings.
