  • From the start i was given really interesting work that progressed as picked up more in depth knowledge and you could really see how the work i was doing would benefit BP.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Had weekly reviews from my supervisor who wodl discuss what i had done in the last week, what i was still looking to get out of it and how i was coping with approaching deadlines.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Had a large workload and a programme which could mean anything could come up on a day to day basis so really helped improve my prioritisation of tasks to ensure i kept on top of all my tasks.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was asked to perfrom a number of tasks that could benefit BP and i was the only one in my team looking into that area and so the responsibility was all mine, would feedback to the team through presentations and informal chats.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Really helped bring on my confidence in regards to getting out and speaking to new people i could need help with. had to do a lot of reorganisation of my tasks throughout the tiem here and so it has meant that i have drastically improved my time managements and evaluating how much time each project could take.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I came into the internship thinking that overall it would be a very busy environment where people would not want or have the tiem to stop and chat to you however everyone here is so nice. if you have questions about their area they are happy to take a minute or find a time they can talk over it without hesitating. Bp has a strong focus on its culture and it is really evident the moment you walk through the doors the first time.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • We had to sort out our own accomdoation and didnt really know where the other interns would be located as we didnt know each others names and so couldnt get in contact with one another. otherwise it was completely seemless, we were given a plan at the beginning of group trainings and when we should get our reviews and everything ran smoothly and if it didnt they would find a time suitable for everyone.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Set up a 8-9 training sessions over the 11 week programme, this covered a range of skills that you might not be picking up in your team ensuring you maximised what you were getting out form the experience. also gave insights into all the business areas of BP so you could understand the wider picture far more and didnt ever feel isolated in your business department.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Will find out very soon whether or not i have got a job with them. i know i would like to work for them in the future and i would like to think i have given a good account of myself durign the 11 weeks i have certainly had the chances to!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • BP hosted events and we would regularly meet up after work for casual drinks or go on nights out together.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive and so you expect to pay more for accomodation and living etc however there was an extra allowance to the standard pay rate if you work in central london to help bring it in line.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Always loads of places to go out in london so it was just a case of finding somewhere for you all to try and havign a big night out!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • due to the programem only beign 11 weeks long there is not alot of time to get invovled in activities outside of BP. there are loads of events that you can get invovled with and this is actively encouraged. so as a full time employee i would certainly look to exercise this opportunity.
