The Role
Absolutely fantastic time at BP, I really enjoyed my project, gained a lot of insight about the industry, and would certainly want to work for BP in the future.
I felt as valued as I would expect to be as an intern. Everyone was very friendly, and seemed happy to help whenever I had any questions
Support was excellent, I was encouraged to think on my feet and take initiative but whenever I needed help I felt I could ask for it.
Perfectly busy most of the time, but there were some days in which I had little to do. However I managed to fill my time by working on some other things not related to my project.
My project was quite important within the future of the department I was working in. I was in charge of running a few meetings to inform senior management about how my project was progressing.
Learned some good technical skills, but I would say even more important/invaluable general skills about working with others, managing my time..
The Company
Office was really nice, relaxed, casual environment, but also hardworking
Very well organised by BP, first few days were well set up to get everyone to know each other. Throughout internship organisation was good.
Internship involved site vists/lab visits, and even an overnight trip to Aberdeen to meet senior Engineers up there. BP really seemed to be keen for me to learn more about them and the department I was in.

I would love to get a job with BP, my internship has been fantastic.
The Culture
The first few days are focused on all the interns getting to know each other. The other interns have quickly become really good friends, we eat lunch every day together and go out frequently
I was living at home through my internship so no problem with living costs, however, being in London was quite expensive for other interns.
Not much in Sunbury itself, but easy transport links to London/Richmond etc.
Lots of activities organised by Social Committee, as well as impromptu nights out and sports events etc.
