  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

  • The department was quite small and everyone was close and made me welcome.

  • I was given a section of the audit to complete myself and left to work myself and any problems I had would be expalined through with other colleagues.

  • There was always plenty of work to be getting on with but no pressure to be rushing to finish.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was pretty shocked at the level of trust and responsibility given to me. I meet with clients myself, regularly and was solely responsible for sections of the audit myself.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The hands on audit experiance helped but theory in practice and more general meeting with sometimes difficult clients is invaluable.

  • A great mix of characters, I'm still friends with several people in the department.

  • For such a sort placement I spent a week in training and also took part in a CSR event.

  • I recieved a final interview at the end of my six weeks and accepted a job offer after I graduate.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • All placement students spent a great week at the beginning together in a country club in Cheshire! After this everyone made some great friends.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Glasgow's one of the best cities in the with cheap living and a great people/ entertainment.

  • There's something for everyone in Glasgow.

  • All placement students went on a CSR day to help an old parish church. We all had drinks and dinner with the department.
