    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement was intresting and working for a defence company is exciting, however there is a lot of computer time and numbers, there is sometimes a lack of stimulating work.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Staff are very friendly and you are considered an equal straight away, your here to work the same as everyone else.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support is there when you want it, but the company very much focuses on you getting on with the tasks you've been set and not been spoon fed by management.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • there was always work to be done, however sometimes it wasn't able to be done due to waiting for material for other departments etc meaning there was occasionally sometime where I was doing more menial tasks.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • This is exactly what this company is great for, you are given tasks that actually affect the project, not given toy projects just because your a summer placement

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Dramatically enhanced computer skills that I would have lost/not developed further in univerisity.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Unfortunately the average age of the staff lets this down a bit.

    1/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • HR really did well here.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Because of the short peroid of employement courses were hardly worth putting me on. There were some introductory classes but they did not add to my knowledge.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Somethings let the company down, but there are a lot of great aspects. However I don't want to limit myself to one employer just yet.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Placements were well spread out with little travel. There is some social scene with graduates, like pool tournamounts, if I didn't live with 2 other employees is is doubtful I would see other staff outside of work.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Pretty poor tbh.

    0/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Again limited due to me only been a summer placement, i did attend the pool competition but couldn't enter because I'd be leaving before the second round.
