    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My internship has been a brilliant experience, learning a lot more about tax then I have ever known. I have also learned a lot more about the industry and knowledge of the financial sector which I know I can take forward.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues have made me feel reallly valued through the process giving me loads of work and encoraging me to question anything I don't understand. They have shown me how things need to be done and they have never underestimated me which is great because I get given a variety of tasks.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager, other team managers, directors and partners on the team are fantastic and have really supported my learning through the last few weeks. I have been able to get a wide range of experience as the whole team has been really helpfula dn supportive which has really enhanced my learning. It also means I have been more hard working and done a lot more work in various regions. This has also made my experience a lot more enjoyable - having a really helpful and friendly team makes work a lot more fun!

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I have been busy all through the day and have not spent much time at all asking for work and have had a great experience. The team trusts me with work and I can get on with things and have had a lot of opportunity to learn the use of new and different programmes and hve also been able to do work wuth every member in the team which has enabled me to get to know everyone.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I have been given quite a lot of work and have been given responsibility with various tasks related directly to clients and it has helped increase my confidence through the weeks as well.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think there is an improvement in my presentation skills and level of confidence around new people and so I can display my skills much more effectively. The last few weeks have taught me a lot about myself and where my strengths are and where I can improve which will help me everywhere in the future. I have written some reports and this will help when it comes to writing a dissertation as my writing skills have really strengthened.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere has been great through out the office and the team livens up through the day which is really great fun. Its really easy to talk to people at every level which really helps relax the atmosphere.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was really well organised with a lot planned in terms of work being ready for me and everyone taking time to get to know me which was really great. All the events and training at Bradenham was really well organised as well!

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We got taken to their training center in High Wycombe which was beautiful and the course was good as well. It helped build on presentation skills; Also the team was always ready to help me and I have really been able to build on my knowledge in various areas of tax.

  • If I get offered a job I will definitely take it up.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yupp, all the interns got loads of chances to meet with us going out plenty of times!

  • I live in London so no different to usually!

  • Love the area, loads of pubs and clubs in the area!

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Ya - I was able to get involved in fundraising, CR day activities and varo=ious other activities with the team!
