  • A good mix of challenge and enjoyment.

  • The majority of colleagues were friendly and approachable, regardless of seniority.

  • Enthusiastic support from supervisors.

  • Heavily dependent on how busy the department was as a whole.

  • Given a reasonable degree of responsibility, given relative lack of legal / commercial experience.

  • Training in presentation skills was particularly useful, and very relevant for humanities degrees. General organisational and IT skills also developed.

  • Good social scene / events, and everyone got on well.
