    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement, I learnt so much and everyone is very friendly and a great laugh.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It is a little family community within your team but also within the company as a whole. We did a lot together as a team, such as drinks and team lunches. I felt a valued member of the team from pretty much day 1.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Supprt and guidance given as much or as little as you want/need it. They are happy to hold your hand if needed but also are willing to give you as much responsibility as you want and deserve.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It very much varies depending on whether there is a release upcoming. There are very busy times but these are balanced out by quieter times which give you the time needed to get everything done, ready for the next busy period. There were hardly any days when I felt too busy, and if I did then my manager was there to help me prioritise.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I wasn't quite running the show but was given a lot of responsibility from quite early on. You have to earn it though by showing you are capable.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt a lot of valuable skills during my placement. The usual such as team work, time management etc, but also how to talk to people on a professional level (not as easy as it sounds) among other skills that will be a huge help in my future career

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • very welcoming and busy It is Disney after all!

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • We had some big changes in our team so at times it felt like things were very unorganised but there is nothing that could have been done about that.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was a slight lack of training opportunities, but it depends on what department you are in

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Healthcare/Dental

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Easy to get good contacts but they can not secure a job for you. You have to just see what is available once you graduate.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are a lot of interns within the company so the social side is great - its like being a uni!

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is pretty expensive around £80 per night.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Despite being slightly on the expensive side, London has a great night life - you couldn't ask for more!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There is a group called Volun'Ears which allows you to get involved in charity and community work through Disney. There are also a lot of sports teams etc.
