  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The work was never boring or repetitive and I was constantly challenged and learning new things.

  • The team I worked in developed a strong bond and we all got on really well.

  • My manager was very supportive and helpful and always gave praise where it was due. She was approachable and understanding when I had questions or needed help.

  • There was always more than enough work to fill my day, which made the time go by quickly.

  • There was a great deal of autonomy in decision making given and a broad range of tasks were under my remit.

  • I have developed greater organisation skills, time management, a methodical approach, communication skills and most importantly greater self-confidence.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The abundance of other placement students at the company and the friendly attitude of the full time staff gave the small company a great social environment.

  • Accommodation was provided for by the company and the job training was well thought out.

  • My manager was always keen to push me and encouraged me to take on new tasks to gain as much experience as possible in my year.

  • The company is always keen to take back students who have excelled during their placement.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The placement students regularly arranged social events and the company held a office Christmas Party and Summer Boat Party on the Thames.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Accommodation was paid for by the company, as was travel to and from work. Food, drink and other socialising costs were good for a town on the outskirts of London.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Maidenhead had a few venues, but Windsor and Reading were close by, both offering a plethora of clubs and bars.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was a busy social scene. The company also held five-a-side football practice once a week and even took part in a tournament against other companies in the industry.
