    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • Introduction to the M&A, debt and restructuring and equity advisory businesses, giving a valuable insight into life as a banker at Rothschild & Co. During the week-long programme, we had the opportunity to experience the working environment by spending time shadowing bankers from a selection of teams, as well as taking part in informative skills sessions, presentations and networking with bankers of all levels. Other sessions included how to deal with imposter syndrome and M&A case study examples.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. The insight included a 3 hour course that developed the fundamental skills needed in investment banking, focusing on our analytical skills and ability to quickly synthesise information. We also had the opportunity to develop our team working skills by being given the task of a M&A case study. We had to present our findings from this project too, allowing us to improve on our presenting skills.
