  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The Business Development function is unique in that no two days are the same, a key aspect of the role is support the Account mangers in any capacity required. In addition to this you are given little projects, such as research task on emerging markets and competitors.

  • In my time with the Boeing Company I have definitely developed as a working professional understanding how to communicate with colleagues in an effective and appropriate manor as well as complying with processes in place which I hadn't come across before in terms of time keeping and resource management.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • On internal projects I was given full responsibility for the action outcome however, with the external areas of business responsibility was limited due to the lucrative production of Boeing Products and Services.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • The Boeing UK Early careers team are amazing, they have heavily enriched my experience as an intern. In addition to this we are give a buddy which is a current graduate as a point of contact for any questions as well as a drumbeat meeting to discuss wellbeing, settling in as well as setting goals for our time with the company.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The culture amongst the early careers team is strong with regular lunches as well as social events. In the wider business it does feel at times that you are quite isolated although functions seem to have strong connections within the team.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have overwhelmingly enjoyed the placement, it has been a great way to enhance my experience of University and I look forward to implementing my learnings into my final year of studying. To spend a year at a company like Boeing has offered a great source of motivation at the start of my professional journey.

  • Be authentic and genuine, I would also encourage to carry out research on the Boeing company and its customers. My final bit of advice would be to practice common interview questions for early career interviews.
