    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • 1. Analysis: Look at the weekly Segment performance and compare it the same week in the previous year to catch trends related to product and macro environment. 2. Research: Looked into Segment Definition, Market Size, Vertical Analysis and Competition overview specific to the MB segment for UK, US and DE markets. 3. Support marketing, analytics and sales teams cross-functionally and help execute our segment strategy through both channels.

  • Yes, Here are the following skills my role at PayPal helped me develop/build on. Communication: PayPal has a very friendly environment across offices and during my time at PayPal I learnt how to navigate my way through tough work related conversations, social interactions and in a community setting. I have come out more confident person. SQL: Even though my role didn't require SQL, I requested to one of the analysts in my team to help me learn and develop on the skill. Agility: Work experience makes you agile, atleast I became agile during my internship. I learnt how to stay productive and motivated at all times during the work ex.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was and I wasn't. Here's the thing, when you start working at a big company a lot of times, you need to take the initiative to find work and responsibility. A lot of senior members have a lot on their place and would love your help in. I managed to scout for responsibility through networking, shadowing, reaching out, asking for what I want and lending a helping hand all the time. So, yes I think I did end up having enough responsibility.

  • A great deal. I had a wonderful team who were open to having a lot of conversations with me and happy to jump in and help me in things I get stuck on.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed it thoroughly. I had a wonderful cohort of interns and we got along well. PayPal hosted a range of events throughout the year of supreme quality. The FUN level me was 100/100.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to PayPal
  • Don't stop the Grind. These opportunities are hard to come by so make the most of it. Don't shy away from asking for work, meeting people and participating in the company overall. Ask questions, network and try to get involved in everything - you've got nothing to lose.
