    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • In my role, I am the main technical liaison for enterprise-level merchants, offering specialised technical solutions and support for integrating PayPal's products into their systems smoothly. Day-to-day, I engage directly with these merchants, providing expertise in programming languages like HTML, JavaScript, and Node.js. This allows me to implement PayPal SDK/APIs and Braintree SDK/APIs effectively. I consult merchants on best practices, offer proactive technical support, and develop code snippets to streamline integration processes and ensure a smooth transition to Live Site (LTS), among other responsibilities.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, I was given significant responsibility during my placement/internship. Initially, after becoming familiar with PayPal products, I had the chance to shadow merchant meetings led by my peers. As I gained confidence over a few months, understanding the products, best practices, and technical implementations, I started handling my own cases and leading merchant conversations to assist them with integrations independently.

Additionally, having two buddies available for support was great. The team was approachable and friendly, making it easy to seek assistance when needed. Plus, the university recruiting team was always open to chat if I required any further support.
