Women in Technology Insight Progamme Review

The insight programme involved an introduction to various facets of KPMG's technology division, from cyber security and software engineering to project management and digital transformation. It also consisted of informative skill-based sessions (commercial awareness, introduction to Python) and opportunity to participate in insightful Q&A sessions with industry experts.

Yes, I was able to hone my teamwork, communication, and presentation skills through a group presentation. Participating in a case study also furthered my ability to think critically about situations and assess their impact on diverse stakeholders. I was also introduced to various technical aspects for the first time, including Python.

Great - everyone was really helpful! Be it senior manager of graduates, everyone was happy to answer questions and share more about their career trajectories. We learned how our day-to-day in the technology division may look like but also so much about the company's values and purpose. There was also an opportunity to be interviewed for the summer internship.

Amazing - it wasn't too hierarchical. Even the most senior people we interacted with cared about what we had to say. It was also quite inclusive. We learned about employee network and their ESG ethos, which I found very impressive.

The activities were varied and I think there was something for everyone! I particularly enjoyed the commercial side of things and it was helpful to have a sense of what aspects of tech interest me the most.

Just be yourself! It sounds cliche but it is true - I felt I had messed up at several points during the process but the person on the other side is human too, and they've been in the same boat as you!
