The Role
Couldn't have asked for a better year. Learnt huge amounts, developed all my skills greatly
My team are great! They through you in the deep end, but are there to support you every step of the way
All the time, whenever I needed support I was given it. My manager always makes time to review my work on a weekly basis - keeps me on track and ensures all my work is to the highest standard
Very - but that's because I wanted to be. You have to be proactive and ask for work sometimes, and its then when you will soon realize you have plenty to do as your help is always welcome!
A great deal - it was only by proving myself that more and more responsibility was given to me. E.g. I managed my whole teams presence at HP's largest event of the year - one of the biggest Revenue generates for our team across the fiscal year
Hugely - I have been able to work on a large variety of my skills, with that I then selected particular areas to focus on - this allowed me to really develop my skills to a high level.
The Company
Work-hard, play-hard - In the office everyone is working hard, but then you get to spend time in meetings with your team enjoying what you do best. Some days will not be as fun as others but that's natural - its the more exciting days that make your work worth it!
Very well organised - from my recruitment to my role within HP - all ran smoothly.
Meeting on a weekly basis with most of my team, including my manager means that I felt HP were really helping me to develop. I did lots of training at the beginning and throughout my year so always felt there was room to keep developing.
Good to some degree - but it very much differs from one department to the next.
The Culture
Yes! Lots of intern socials & inter-company socials where other placement companies come along too which was great fun!
Reasonable - typical student pricing as Reading is a Uni town
Good - its more to do with who you are out with rather than where you go..but Reading has a fair few bars/clubs to choose from.
Yeah - depends on what you have in mind I guess. - Local sports teams etc are easy to locate.
