Overview
The program included workshops, lectures and presentations, networking opportunities, and other activities including an E-bike tour. Each day started with a breakfast buffet and ended with a nice dinner together with the other participants (including quants). This was a very nice opportunity to interact with other attendees.
Skills
Yes! I did learn some perspectives on quantitative investment strategies, as well as some hands-on NLP. However, what I value the most is what I learned about G-research, their business model, culture, and what they value in candidates for future Quant positions
Business Insight
Extremely valuable and insightful. The program was optimized to give the attendees many perspectives on what problems G-research works on and the roles available. Attending the Insights week also gave you an opportunity to talk to Quants who work in different teams. This was a great opportunity to learn about what challenges the different teams work on, and which skills they seek.
Culture
I got a great impression of the company's culture. They expect a lot from their employees and they are very selective in their recruitment. But at the same time, they prioritize a reasonable work-life balance for all employees, which I reckon is unique in this industry.
