  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work in the Regulatory Policy team. Focus on Banking rules made by Basel and improvised by jurisdiction specific authorities. Learn about trades and how it impacts bank capital and liquidity ratios. Review proposed rules to summarize proposal and rule changes that affects MS Capture publications from banking supervisors, summarize significant ones for stakeholders Run reports on new publications and New Product Appovals for senior stakeholders Support internal process improvement projects

  • Given a significant amount of responsibility that is manageable and trusted to complete at best abilities. - Currently supporting a process improvement project which requires me to communicate and work in a team - Was required to learn about new US rules and create a high level summary. - Run weekly reports and capture publications impacting the firm

  • Inclusive, welcoming, respectful and motivating. A very understanding environment that provides support and guidance where needed to help progress in the work environment Opportunities to give back in the firms give back month initiative and even after. Many work social events to create a friendlier environment which helps with networking opportunities and relationship building

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • To a great extent. Lots of new learning, encouraged to speak up and given opportunities to present ideas and solutions. Given tasks to learn the technical aspect of the role by putting me in the deeper end, through brief but clear instruction of what would be liked of my manager. This approach helped me learn in a more comprehensive manner which was then followed by explanations of my finding from my manager.
